If you find this information helpful please “rate” this message at the bottom (very quick and simple). Good Afternoon - We have just left the Wight Strollers Summer Fun Day! We were non-stop with the make your own Finger Print keyrings and had a fantastic opportunity to discuss the issues and concerns residents have using our #LetsTalk engagement tool. Lots of young (and not so young) people enjoyed asking questions about Police work, trying on our uniforms and having a play with the blue lights on the car! 🚔 We would like to offer a huge Thank you to the incredible @WightStrollers for inviting us to join their event - an incredible group of extremely talented people raising money for Island Charities! It has been a busy weekend in general for the East and South Wight Neighbourhoods Teams. Yesterday evening (26/07) PCSO May and PCSO Webb were on proactive Operation Spider patrols in Sandown and Lake, targeting Anti-Social Behaviour. They disrupted some street drinkers on the seafront early on by enforcing the Public Space Protection Order and we had a Section 34 Anti-Social Behaviour Dispersal authority put into place. Later in the evening they attended Sandown Carnival and had the opportunity to engage with local residents and visitors. PC Carey and PC Trickey made an arrest for Dangerous Ride/Drive following the sighting of an illegal motorcycle rider in Shanklin on Saturday. The 17 year old male from Shanklin has been released but remains under investigation. We would like to offer a huge Thank you to Lower Hyde and Landguard Holiday Parks Security teams @ParkdeanResorts who were a huge help in leading to the arrest and our ongoing work in this area. Work continues throughout Ryde, East Wight, Sandown and Shanklin to target illegal motorcycle and E-Motorcycle use under Operation Sidlaw.
